Can You Fly With An Inner Ear Ear Infections Whilst Flying?

Ear infections whilst flying? - can you fly with an inner ear

I have a severe infection of the inner ear and infact apparently infected boil, and IM is to fly to New York tomorrow morning.
Is it safe enough to fly in order to? Earplugs and decongestents aid, etc.? Normally, I hear a plane landed badly enough anyway!
